With operations in North America and employees around the world, we recognize the impact and responsibility our businesses have—and prioritize the overall well-being of our employees, customers and the communities.
At Veritiv, giving back to our community is not simply a value-add⏤it is a core responsibility⏤one that contributes to the well-being of our people, our business and our planet. Driven by our core values and Veritiv Connects, our community and philanthropy program, Veritiv proudly partners with Junior Achievement and the American Red Cross. We focus our efforts on corporate giving and employee volunteer efforts to help shape the success of the hundreds of communities where we live and work.
Veritiv partners with Junior Achievement (JA) to provide middle and high school students with the business knowledge and financial skills they need to plan their futures. The Veritiv Design Team created a Veritiv storefront in an Atlanta-area JA Discovery Center to teach students through real-world experience how packaging design and distribution work.
Veritiv employees volunteer over 400 hours each year towards in-person mentoring with students at JA Discovery Centers and 3DE schools, a joint venture between Fulton County Schools and JA of Georgia to re-engineer high school education.
Veritiv’s team members volunteer with the American Red Cross to aid relief efforts. The team regularly makes financial contributions, organizes blood drives, and donates comfort kits to help those in need after natural disasters and home fires.
Our teams also support the Red Cross Home Fire Campaign, “Sound the Alarm,” where the Red Cross and volunteers install free smoke alarms and help families in at-risk communities create escape plans.
In 2019, Veritiv donated a Humanitarian Services Vehicle to aid Red Cross volunteers by transporting materials and providing much-needed support to families.
Our people make a difference. Our culture is not only shaped by who we are but also by what we do. Together we work on company-wide initiatives and ones that are close to local communities.
Across the U.S. and Mexico, our teams make a difference through tree planting events, food bank donations, community clean-up projects, toy donations, building houses for those in need, winter clothing drives, and more!
A defining part of our Veritiv culture is our volunteer spirit—turning our Veritiv Values into action. Our people not only give their time and talents to better our Veritiv team and that of our customers; they also give back to their communities.
Funded by employee contributions, the One Veritiv Fund provides short-term financial relief to eligible Veritiv employees who have suffered significant hardship as a result of unforeseen events such as natural disaster, medical emergency, military deployment, or a pandemic.
What grant recipients and donors say about the One Veritiv Fund:
Leslie H. received a grant when she and her family suffered a house fire that was a complete loss.
“If it were not for the contributions and the most generous employees, the assistance I received would not have been possible. It was an amazing blessing that I had the One Veritiv Fund, as well as the Veritiv family.”
We comply with the laws and regulations of the states, provinces and countries in which we operate. We also conduct our business operations in ways that seek to respect, protect and promote the full range of human rights.

Employees should have a safe, productive work environment. Our Target Zero approach symbolizes our goal of zero unrecognized and unresolved hazards that can lead to injuries. All employees are empowered and encouraged to recognize areas for improvement. In 2018, our Total Incident Rate (TIR)1 for our operations in North America was 0.99.
Introduced in 2017, SCORE (Stop, Consider, Observe, React and Execute), facilitates communication to workers about how to approach daily tasks, regardless of how routine the task may be. MHE SAFE focuses on the safe operation of Material Handling Equipment.
1 TIR is calculated using the OSHA criteria for recordability and OSHA calculation methodologies.
