A: At this time, we have experienced some availability issues with respect to certain high demand items including hand sanitizers, face masks and disinfecting wipes. Veritiv is in daily communication with our suppliers to ensure we understand where there may be supply challenges. The majority of products we supply have not been impacted at this time, however, we cannot say what issues may result as the situation continues to evolve daily. We continue to monitor the supply chain as to all categories of products we supply and actively search for alternative sources. If you have questions as to specific items, please contact your Veritiv Sales or Customer Service representative.
A: Our leadership team promptly followed protocol for business travelers and imposed travel restrictions to certain areas. We have also limited any unnecessary business travel and postponed all internal meetings and training where travel would be involved.
A: Yes. Veritiv is committed to business continuity and the resilience of our operations. We have developed a business resilience program developed to guide our response to a wide range of incidents including epidemics or pandemics. We have assembled a cross-functional COVID-19 response team including occupational health and safety experts. This team communicates daily and is providing advice and directing response efforts across the organization.
A: All Veritiv warehouses remain operational, and our warehouse and transportation teams have the tools needed to safely continue deliveries to you as allowed by local regulations. Some cities, counties, and states have enacted social distancing measures that include closure of all non-essential businesses. At this time, our operations have been generally unaffected by these orders as we provide critical resources such as sanitation supplies. We continuously monitor these measures to ensure we are in compliance.
A: The health and safety of our employees, our customers, and our community are of paramount importance. Aligned with the recommendations of health officials, and to help prevent further spread of the virus, we have encouraged teleworking for all Veritiv office employees who work at our large facilities and are able to perform their jobs from home. We have and will continue to set clear expectations with employees in all functions that no one who feels ill or suspects COVID-19 exposure should be in the workplace. All Veritiv employees have been instructed on practicing personal hygiene recommendations in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.
A: If an employee tests positive for COVID-19, or is at high risk of having been exposed, we will identify all employees and third parties (customers, suppliers, vendors, etc.) with whom this employee came into close contact during the incubation period. While protecting employee privacy, we would notify all such employees and third parties of the potential contact, advising them to monitor their health for symptoms and seek medical attention if symptoms develop or if they are at high risk. We continue to maintain the cleanliness of our facilities and equipment, including targeting deep cleaning as warranted in accordance with applicable guidelines.
Veritiv is closely following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC has stated that while information about COVID-19 is still developing, they believe based on their learnings from other viruses that the risk of virus transmission from products or packaging is very low. The CDC further states that there is no evidence to support transmission of COVID-19 associated with imported goods. Given this guidance, Veritiv is not testing our containers or products imported from China or other affected areas. Consistent with recommendations of the CDC and other health organizations we are encouraging all our employees to follow good hygiene practices such as frequent hand washing.
A: CDC’s website (www.cdc.gov) offers guidance on prevention. CDC recommends cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
